 Chile's Lake District is a place of almost unnatural beauty, with a string of snow capped volcanoes running north to south and a multitude of lakes
 that were carved by glaciers during the ice ages.  Wrapped around the mountains and orderly German-style farms on the flats is dense native rainforest. 

 Stretching 400 Kms (240 miles) from near Temuco to Puerto Montt, the Lake District is

home to Chile's greatest concentration of National Parks & reserves (over 20).

 The region contains what has been called the adventure center of Chile- Pucon, where in addition to the ski slopes on the Villarica Volcano, the lakeside town offers summer visitors mountain biking, rafting, kayaking, sailing, hot springs & volcano climbing.

Puerto Varas/ Puerto Montt have similar offerings in addition to access to the emerald islands of Chiloé and the fjords of Northern Patagonia.
