Campo Aventura Lodge & Horse
Trekking |
|
A unique owner-operated eco-lodge nestled between the Lake District &
Patagonia
|
Highlights:
thousand year old forests, superb horses, local culture, comfortable
riverside lodge, Mountain Camp below massive granite walls labeled the
"Chilean Yosemite". No other tourists!
Description:
2-6 day journeys from Cochamó,
a stunningly pristine forested valley SE of Puerto Varas (some trips include
transport there, for others it is arranged). Begun as a horse trekking
operation that focused on trips into the dense Valdivian rainforest, the
operation has widened its offerings for non-riders as well.
Nights may be spent at their comfortable ("rustic
luxury") riverside lodge 4 kms from Cochamó or up-valley at
their Mountain Camp to really get out there! Excellent vegetarian food
from their organic gardens.
Trips in: English, Spanish, German & French
|
Season:
September to May, with December
to March having the most predictable weather
|
Physical
Activity:
flexible. It is possible to relax at the base camp lodge and take day
hikes etc. that do not require anything special. However for rides,
one must be able to handle 5-6 hours a day in the saddle.
